Question of the Week–What doesn’t have High Fructose Corn Syrup?

I have been scrutinizing my labels on the foods I buy and something keeps on cropping up. For some reason there is a pervasive amount of High Fructose Corn Syrup in a large portion of my food. From my soft drink to my bread…what the heck? I didn’t realize I ate so much corn!

What doesn’t have the stuff in it?

Anything from the earth that didn’t pass through a factory! That stuff is terrible…

I think the biggest problem with the stuff is that it is nearly omnipresent in the foods we consume. Where has all the cane and beet sugar gone?

Unfortunately the state of processed foods is just that, processed. Unless we are eating and preparing foods directly from their natural state, we are going to encounter some really terrible chemicals. It is just sad seeing all the new sugar alternatives, if we just used a little moderation we would never have a problem with pure cane sugar…

The big problem is simply supply and demand. Cane sugar is just more expensive then corn syrup. There is no other reason. Its sad as well, because with this increase in the use of corn syrup, there has also been a huge increase of adult-onset diabetes in children, as well as just an increase in the number of people who develop diabetes.
